How do I Join DCC?
We get that question a lot (which is great!), so I thought I’d take a few minutes to answer it. Here’s how you become a member of our great family: Accept Jesus Christ as your Savior That’s the most important step! Joining a local church is a visible, tangible representation of your membership in the [...]

Christianity 101: I’m Brand New!
Christianity 101: I’m Brand New! I can still remember when I started going to church. As soon as the minister got behind the pulpit and started reading the Bible, I was lost! I didn’t know the difference between the New Testament and the Old, if Moses and Jesus were brothers, or what to do with [...]
Stewards of Children
In the 60’s Bob Dylan wrote a song “The Times They are a Changin”, which still applies today. Due to this fallen world we unfortunately have to be prepared for the sad, ugly situation some children face today. We have recently changed our insurance policy and we are now required to provide training for ALL [...]

Video Testimonies
Church Family: We are researching a "video testimony" project for our church website. Those participating would sit down with me and record a short testimony about what Christ has done in their life. It was inspired by this church (http://www.thevillagechurch.net/flower-mound/about-us/stories-of-life-change/video-testimonies/). If any of you are interested in recording a testimony, please visit that link (to check it out) and then let me know as soon as possible. I see this as a great way to glorify God and spread the word about what Jesus is doing in each of our … [Read More...]
What are you doing?
Since coming aboard DCC I have gotten a number of questions dealing with my job title, Pastor of Family Life and Administration. Many people ask, “what does administration have to do with ministry work?”, or “why do we need all these systems and policies?” These are good questions and I’m glad they are being asked. My hope is to use this blog to give you a behind the scenes picture of what it is that I do when I do what I do do (you just said doo-doo) and most importantly the why. Today’s entry is starting with the all important question of why. Why do we need procedure … [Read More...]
New Song – Come To Me
"Come To Me" is the first release from Bethel Church's newest CD, "The Loft Sessions." It was written and is sung by Jenn Johnson. The words of the song are written from God's point of view, pouring out His love and promises for us as his people. “Come to Me, for I AM all you need!” “I am your anchor in the wind and the waves. I am your steadfast, so DON’T be afraid!” The song uses scripture and Bible imagery to remind us that God is there for us when we need Him. Even when we might feel that He is far away, He is closer than our own breath! Listen to the words and compare it … [Read More...]
Family Friday – Raising a modern-day Knight
Have you ever wondered, “How will a boy know when he has become a man?”[1] Whether you consciously think through the answer or not, it’s an important question. If a boy doesn’t know when he’s arrived at manhood, he’ll never know what he’s supposed to do once he gets there. Is it when he turns 18? When he gets a job? Joins the military? Takes a woman to bed? None of those provide a one-size-fits-all cutoff for manhood. In American culture especially, that poses a problem. When we don’t lay out clear expectations for a transition to manhood, we’re … [Read More...]
